<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin having proper richness in use, having no sticky feeling after use, excellent in rough skin prevention/amerioration effect, guiding to skin having a transparent feeling by adjusting texture, and also excellent in stability. <P>SOLUTION: This external preparation for skin includes, with respect to the whole amount of the external preparation for skin; A: a 0.1-30 mass% polyalkylene glycol derivative represented by following general formula (I), Z-äO-(EO)<SB POS="POST">a</SB>-(BO)<SB POS="POST">k</SB>-H}<SB POS="POST">m</SB>(I) (In the formula, Z represents a residue formed by removing hydroxyl groups from water-soluble polyhydric alcohol having 3-6 hydroxyl groups, m represents an integer of 3-6, EO represents an oxyethylene group, BO represents an oxybutylene group, EO and BO are coupled in a block shape, a is an integer of 10-50, and k is an integer of 3-40.
