PURPOSE: A mold flux melting apparatus and method are provided to prevent or reduce the volatilization of F(Fluorine) in mold flux by using solid carbon in melting. CONSTITUTION: A mold flux melting apparatus comprises a melting furnace(100), a flux feeding unit(200), one or more burners(300), a carbon feeding unit(400), and an oxygen supply unit(500). The melting furnace provides a space for melting mold flux. The flux feeding unit supplies mold flux to the melting furnace. The burners pass through the melting furnace to create flam in the space. The carbon feeding unit supplies solid carbon to the burners. The oxygen supply unit supplies oxygen-containing gas to the burners. |
