<p>1282251 Semi-conductor devices RCA CORPORATION 1 Jan 1971 [7 Jan 1970] 17/71 Heading H1K A shielded semi-conductor device comprises a cuboidal envelope 10 having a row of leads 22 emerging from each of two opposite sides 14, and two shield members 30 disposed along two other opposite sides 26 and having extensions 32 on the envelope ends 34 connected to leads 23, 24. The shield members 30 may be electrically connected to form a closed loop around the envelope, or may, where two separate earth leads are required, be two separate members, one having a lead 23, the other having a lead 24, each electrical connection also including a connection to elongated conductors leading in the envelope to the semi-conductor device mounting plate. Each row of leads 22 of the device extends in the same direction, the leads being alternately aligned in one or other of two planes in this direction, the leads either emerging from the envelope along a centre line of the side, when the shield member between their ends is narrower than the other shield member to prevent shorting with the leads, or emerging from the envelope nearer to a side bearing a shield member than the centre line, in which case both shield members may be the same size.</p> |
