<p>A ground-fault circuit interrupter has a test circuit for generating a test fault current. The test circuit includes a test button, a first test resistor, and a regulating circuit constructed to generate a test fault current with a predetermined and substantially constant value independent of an applied voltage of an electrical network to be protected.
