PURPOSE: A 3D image display device using an active retarder including a substrate is provided to reduce active retarder manufacturing costs. CONSTITUTION: A 3D image display device includes a display panel(DP) and an active retarder(AR). The active retarder is attached to a front surface of a display panel. An active retarder includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate includes a first phase delay value. The second substrate includes the first phase delay value and a second phase delay value. A liquid crystal layer is mounted between the first and the second substrate.
