Camera device with components for optimising the signal-noise ratio

The device (1) has a charged-coupled device (CCD) sensor (3), an analog to digital converter and a computing device (5), where the analog to digital converter converts an analog output signal of the CCD sensor into digital values. The computing device determines pixel frequency based variable operational parameters of the camera device, and noise of an image signal is minimum at given sampling frequency of the analog to digital converter. A control device drives the CCD sensor with the pixel frequency determined by the computing device. An independent claim is also included for a method for image recording by a CCD sensor in a camera device.
