<p>The device has a transmission unit (54) provided with transmission elements (53.1-53.3) for sending a broadcasting signal into a floor and a rear wall. A control and evaluation unit (45) controls the transmitting and reception units and analyzes signals (TX1/RX1-TX1/RX3) received by receiving elements (55.1-55.3) of a receiving unit (56). A display unit displays the analyzed received signals. The transmission elements of the transmission unit are independently controlled by the control and evaluation unit. The transmitting and reception elements are designed as ultrasonic sensors, inductive sensors, capacitive sensors, radar detectors e.g. pulse radar detectors, stepped frequency-range radar detectors, pseudo-random noise radar detectors and multi-sine-designed radar detectors, magnetic field sensors e.g. coils, Hall sensors, magneto-impedance sensors, magneto-inductive sensors, fluxgate sensors, giant magnetoresistance sensors, colossal magnetoresistance sensors and anisotropic magnetoresistance sensors. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting an object in a floor and a rear wall.</p> |
