The invention refers to measurement methods and building management sector, and it can be applied in any building where vertical distribution of heat carrier is used. The aim of this invention is to aid building management by creating a chance to distribute payment of building's total heat consumption among heat users according to their individual heat consumptions. The offered method obtains a relative distribution of heat consumption among all premises that are adjoined to one individual riser by using temperature measurements of heat carrier, as well as obtains a relative distribution of heat consumption among all risers by using temperature and mass flow rate measurements of heat carrier and evaluation of total heat consumption of all premises that are adjoined to one individual riser by using temperature and mass flow rate measurements of heat carrier. The possible realization versions include remote or non-remote reading of measurement values, and automated or non-automated transfer of measurement results to data center where calculations are performed.
