PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to improve the luminous efficiency of the light emitting device by improving the recombination of holes and electrons. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting device includes a semiconductor layer(120), a second semiconductor layer(150), an active layer(130), an intermediate layer(140), a light emitting structure, a first layer and a second layer. The active layer is formed between the semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer. The intermediate layer is formed between the first semiconductor layer and the active layer and includes a first layer and a second layer. The first layer is smaller than the second layer and has a large band gap compared to the active layer.
