<p>Device for continuous treatment of molten metals with solid substances poured onto the melt comprises (a) a recipient with a first compartment (I) into which the melt and solids descend, a second compartment (II) from the upper part of which the treated metal is removed a passage connecting the lower parts of (I) and (II), >=1 gas permeable plug (III) in the bottom of (I) and means to blow gas through (III); the surface of (III) is 1/2 the surface of the bottom of (I) and the centre of (III) is remote from the centre of the bottom of (I); (b) a skimmer which cleans the surface of the melt in (I); and (c) an automatic system for pouring solids into the melt in (I) used in purification of metals or for introduction of C or alloying elements.</p> |
