The article i.e. cross-country ski boot (1) has a stiffener (15) located in an area of a rear end (5). Reinforcement is superimposed onto the stiffener, where the article extends lengthwise from the rear end to a front end (6), widthwise between a lateral side (7) and a medial side (8) and height-wise from a sole assembly (2) to an upper end (9). The reinforcement comprises arch extending along the sides in the area of the upper end, a lower extension extending the arch toward the assembly and a rear lug and the lateral and medial lugs extending the arch toward the assembly. An independent claim is also included for a modular method for manufacturing a footwear article. |
