<p>Novel cpds. of formula: R-N-(CH2-CH2-CH2-NR)nR (where R is H or C8H17, >=2 R-gps. being C8H17 and n is 1 or 2). The cpds. are prepd. by reaction of octyl halide and propylene diamine or dipropylene triamine in a molar ratio 1:2-3:1 in the presence of acid acceptors at 80-200 degrees C, pref. 100-160 degrees C, followed by sepn. of the prods., pref. by distn. The cpds. are used for disinfection, conservation and sanitary purification, and have good solubility and activity in very hard water.</p> |
