PURPOSE: A method for performing an upward link ranging in a wireless access system and a device are provided to transmit region information performing the upward link ranging for the network reentry of an idle mode terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(11) controls a wireless communication unit(13) to receive control information including a first parameter and a second parameter from a base station(20). The first parameter shows a location of a super frame performing upward link ranging. The second parameter shows a frame section in which the upward link ranging is performed in the super frame. The control unit performs upward link ranging for network reentry to the base station based on the control information.
