Each of the image element electrodes (13) is connected through a switching element (5) to the corresponding scanning line (2) and the corresponding data line (1), has a long side lying along the direction in which the plurality of scanning lines (2) pass and a short side lying along the direction in which the plurality of data lines (1) pass, and has cut-off sections (13a) made by cutting off two corners of each of the image element electrodes.
