PURPOSE: A receiving apparatus of an OFDM communication system and a method for relieving phase noise are provided to improve system performance greatly, by compensating the common phase noise without using a previous pilot symbol. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(210) receives an OFDM symbol from a transmission device of the OFDM communication system. An ICI(Intercarrier Interface) relieving unit(240) estimates the mean difference of phase noise per part blocks of the received symbol. Using the estimated mean difference, the ICI relieving unit, relieves ICI generated from the symbol. A CPE(Common Phase Error) compensation unit(260) compensates for CPE generated from the symbol after relieving ICI through the ICI relieving unit. The ICI relieving unit estimates the mean difference of phase noise per part blocks through a Blind method.
