Automatic adjustment of the parameters of time constant (T) and scanning speed (V) of a scanner with scintigram output enabling colour scintigrams of definable quality to be produced. The number of adjustable parameters is minimal for ease of operation and scale valves for colour and position are operator orientated. Impulse rate (n) is aligned to the highest colour (red) and adjustable factors are Ks - colour matching and KH-position. Automatic compensation follows in accordance with the formulae: T = 2Z2Ks/n max and V = H.K/T. H Where Z is the number of colour steps and H is the collimator half-life width.
