PURPOSE: Limp hole controlling apparatus and method for a hybrid vehicle are provided to temporarily produce the line pressure using a motor when a malfunction is detected on an electrically powered oil pump and surrounding systems. CONSTITUTION: A limp hole controlling method for a hybrid vehicle comprises the following steps: monitoring the driving condition of an electrically powered oil pump and surrounding systems whether the limp home control condition is satisfied(S101, S102); applying a limp home control mode to the hybrid vehicle when the limp home control condition is satisfied, for detecting the charged condition of a battery(S104); operating a motor in an EV mode or an HEV mode by the charged condition of the battery for operating the electrically powered oil pump(S107, S108); and combining a change gear step using the pressure generated from the oil pump for restarting and driving the hybrid vehicle(S110). |
