PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device implementing a stereoscopic image with an active retarder mode using multiple active polarizing plates is provided to be able to see a left-eye image through a left eye and a right-eye image through a right eye using polarized glasses, thereby reducing costs and having a thin shape. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(10) includes an upper substrate and a lower substrate and delays the phase value of light using a liquid crystal. A lower polarizing plate is adhered to the lower substrate. A first active polarizing plate(41) is adhered to the upper substrate. A second active polarizing plate(42) is adhered to the first active polarizing plate. A first pattern retarder(31), which is adhered to the second active polarizing plate, delays the phase value of light passing through the first and second active polarizing plates. |
