PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device implementing a stereoscopic image with an active retarder mode using multiple active polarizing plates is provided to implement a stereoscopic image with the active retarder mode, thereby reducing costs and having a thin shape. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(10) includes an upper substrate and a lower substrate. An upper polarizing plate(11a) is adhered to the upper substrate. A first pattern retarder(31), which is adhered to the upper polarizing plate, delays the phase value of light passing through the upper polarizing plate. A first active polarizing plate(41) is adhered to the first pattern retarder. The second active polarizing plate(42) is adhered to the first active polarizing plate. A second pattern retarder(32) delays the phase value of light passing through the first and second active polarizing plates. |
