PURPOSE: A fingerprint map construction method and a device thereof are provided to build and update a more accurate fingerprint map. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint map construction device includes a display unit(120), a path designating unit(150), a data collecting unit(160) and a map construction unit(170). The display unit displays a map. A user input unit receives input of a start point and an end point of an real path on a displayed map and receives a generated path by connecting input start point and end point by drag and drop operation. The path designating unit designates the generated path by input as an actual path for fingerprint map construction or a path generated by automatically connecting a start point and an end point as a real path. The data collecting unit configures a time period collecting necessary information for fingerprint map construction when a real path for fingerprint map construction is designated and collects necessary information in the configured period for fingerprint map construction while moving the real path. The map construction unit builds a fingerprint map by combining the collected information.
