PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting application information in a digital broadcasting system are provided to reduce an amount of transmitted documents by transmitting detailed information about application through an additional XML document and adding reference information about application information according to each program of a broadcasting channel. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver(710) receives digital broadcasting data from a broadcasting center. A service information receiver(720) receives a broadcasting service searching information table related to digital broadcasting data from the broadcasting center. If reference information exists on a program location information table, a control unit(730) requests application information and receives an application information table. A display unit(740) displays the application and the digital broadcasting data. |
