VIRTUAL MOUSE DRIVING METHOD USING HAND MOTION RECOGNITION

PURPOSE: A method for operating a virtual mouse by using hand motion recognition is provided to reduce the fatigue of a user using hands by activating the virtual mouse with a simple hand motion drawing a circular arc of 1/4 and inactivating the mouse with a hand motion putting down a hand. CONSTITUTION: Images consecutively taken by a 2D camera are received. A hand area is extracted from the images and position coordinates of the hand area are set. A trace of a hand is analyzed by analyzing a change of the position coordinates from the images. The trace of the hand within an error range of a reference trace is determined. If the trace of the hand and the reference trace are within the error range, a virtual mouse is activated.
