A drying machine and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a fire accident by reducing a capacity of a heater when an error of a humidity sensor is generated and to thereby secure safety. A drying machine comprises: a drum(4) receiving the laundry; a heater(14) heating air supplied to the drum and adjusting the capacity; an entry temperature sensor(32) detecting temperature of air flowed into the drum; an outlet temperature sensor(34) detecting temperature of air passing through the drum; a humidity sensor(36) detecting humidity of air passing through the drum; and a control unit for reducing the capacity of the heater in at least one error of the entry temperature sensor, the outlet temperature sensor, and the humidity sensor. The heater has plural heater units(14a,14b) connected in parallel. |
