PURPOSE: Filtering apparatus and method are provided to reduce the amount of residual liquid by limiting the amount of the liquid to the amount obtained from a final filtration body for collecting the residual liquid when using plural filtration bodies. CONSTITUTION: A filtering apparatus comprises plural filtration bodies(1, 2, 3), filtrate discharging paths(31, 32, 33), residual liquid collecting flow paths(51, 52, 53), and flow path changing units(54, 55, 56). The filtrate discharging paths are connected to each filtration body. The residual liquid collecting flow paths are connected to each filtration body for collecting residual liquid. The flow path changing units switch the circulation state of the residual liquid collecting flow paths. An undiluted solution is filtered by more than two filtration bodies at the same time. The state of the residual liquid collecting flow paths is changed to the circulation state using the flow path changing units. The residual liquid collected by the residual liquid collecting flow paths are filtered by the different filtration bodies.
