<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine that has good operability when laundry is hung and dried and suppresses drying wrinkles by making the laundry difficult to be supported on a tub bottom. <P>SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine 1 includes: an outer case 10 having an opening part that is opened upward; a dewatering bin 30 which is provided inside the outer case 10 and into which laundry is entered through the opening part; a cover portion 15 which is attached to the outer case 10 in such a manner that it is vertically turnable by a hinge mechanism and opens and closes the opening part by turning; a hook 18 which is provided inside the cover portion 15; and a plurality of hangers 2 which are engaged with the hook 18. The washing and drying machine performs a washing operation for washing the laundry entered in the dewatering bin 30 and a hanging and drying operation for drying an object to be dried hung from the hangers 2 toward inside of the dewatering bin 30.
