1,215,497. Electric couplings. MINNESOTA MINING & MFG. CO. 4 June, 1968 [5 June, 1967], No. 26624/68. Heading H2E. A tape cable 30 is connected to a printed circuit board 25 via a coupling comprising a base 10 having slots 16 tightly receiving spring metal contacts 12, preferably brass, which have prongs 19, 20 easily accommodated in slots 23 in a top 11 to pierce the cable 30 and contact the conductors 29, and pins 21 to be inserted into the board 25. The pins 21 contact the conductive lining 26 of slots 22, and may be soldered to the board 25, which is spaced by dimples 24 from the base 10, e.g. of resilient nylon. The latter has recesses 15 to receive locking projections 13 on the top 11, which may be glued to the cable 30 for ease of alignment, for which purpose slots and projections may be provided in the base 10 and top 11.
|
