PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to prevent the separation between a prism sheet and a light guide plate by integrating the prism sheet including a reverse prism pattern and the light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(150) changes the light of a light source(170b) into planar light. A prism sheet(140) focuses the light emitted from the light guide plate. The prism sheet includes a reverse prism pattern(143) and a base film(141). The reverse prism pattern is adhered to the light guide plate. The base film supports the reverse prism pattern.
