PURPOSE: An apparatus for synthesizing images in an image processing device and a method thereof are provided to efficiently overlap the images without losing objects of interest. CONSTITUTION: An image synthesizing apparatus checks whether at least one object included in images exists in an overlap region between the images(404). If the object exists in the overlap region, the image synthesizing apparatus generates a Gaussian curve for the object(405). The image synthesizing apparatus determines an alpha mask for the overlap region(406). Based on the alpha mask, the image synthesizing apparatus synthesizes images(407).
