<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material structure with at least partially flame-retardant material that can be used to produce highly visible clothing with a simultaneous protective function. <P>SOLUTION: The material structure (1) comprises a base structure (10) that includes, at least partially, a flame-retardant material with a first side (12) and a second side (14), at least the first side (12) of the base structure being printed with a pattern (20) that has open areas (50) through which the surface of the base structure (10) is visible. The pattern (20) has a material (30) containing a fluorescent dye (40), the visible surface of the first side (12) of base structure (10), in combination with pattern (20), producing a color of the material structure that satisfies the requirements of European standard EN 471.
