<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably remove waste without lowering coating efficiency of a spreader regardless of the coating width of the spreader and the viscosity of an adhesive. <P>SOLUTION: A rod-like multi-branch waste removing member 9 including a large number of twig-like removing pins 9b radially projecting at proper intervals in the axis direction and circumferential direction of a rotatable rod-like body 9a, is located in parallel with a coating roll 1 of the spreader and at a part where the tips of the large number of removing pins 9b can abut on the waste 14 adhered on the outer peripheral surface of the coating roll 1 without abutting an adhesive (13) adhered on the outer peripheral surface of the coating roll 1 when the waste removing member 9 is rotated. The waste removing member 9 is rotated in an arrow direction in the figure by a drive source 10.
