PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device that can detect an object quickly in a wider range, and an object detection method.

SOLUTION: An object detection device 101 includes an imaging unit 11 for imaging a two-dimensional image for a plurality of wavelength ranges selected in advance in accordance with physical property of a detection object, and a detection unit 12 for detecting a material in each pixel of the two-dimensional image.
