The ultrasound probe of the disclosed technique is provided with: an ultrasound element unit (2); a tip storage section (7) in which an acoustic medium liquid (6) and the ultrasound element unit (2) are stored in a frame and which is sealed by a holding member; a cover member (17a) which is disposed on a surface of the holding member (10a); and an acoustic medium liquid accumulating section (15a) which retains the acoustic medium liquid (6) in a space created by the holding member (10a) and the cover member (17a). The holding member (10a) comprises at least one communication path which is in communication with the acoustic medium liquid accumulating section (15a) and the interior of the tip storage section (7), the cover member comprises at least one ventilation path which is in communication with the acoustic medium liquid accumulating section and the exterior of the tip storage section, and the acoustic medium liquid accumulating section is constituted such that the cross sectional area of the space of the part with which the ventilation path is in communication is larger than the cross sectional area of the space of the part with which the communication path is in communication. |
