The purpose of the present invention is to provide a body fluid-absorbent article, such as a urine absorbent pad, having an improved function of preventing the side leakage of the body fluid during wearing. In the body fluid-absorbent article according to the present invention, side parts of an upper absorbent part, said upper absorbent part containing absorbent polymer particles, overlap fixation parts of leak-preventing cuffs. Owing to this structure, when the highly absorbent polymer absorbs the body fluid and thus swells and consequently the thickness of the upper absorbent part increases, the leak-preventing cuffs come closer, by the increase in the thickness, to the wearer's skin so as to reduce the gap between the cuffs and the skin. Thus, the side leakage of the body fluid from the gap between the cuffs and the skin can be prevented.
