<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide implicit certificate verification. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a method for computing a cryptographic key to be shared between a pair of correspondents intercommunicating via a cryptographic system. In the method, one of the correspondents receives a certificate of the other correspondent's public key information which is to be combined with private key information of the one correspondent to generate a key. The method comprises steps of: computing a key by combining the public key information and the private key information; and including in the computation a component corresponding to verification of the certificate so that failure in the certificate verification makes a key at the one correspondent different from a key computed at the other correspondent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
