PURPOSE: A method for synthesizing an iridium complex is provided to improve a synthesis yield of the iridium complex using a liquid ligand. CONSTITUTION: A method for synthesizing an iridium complex comprises a step of reacting a chlorine-crosslinked iridium dimer with a ligand with a substituent under the presence of K_2CO_3 for a first time. The substituent causes steric hindrance and is a liquid at a first temperature condition. The first temperature and the first time are 100-250 deg. C. and 10-100 hours, respectively. An organic light emitting diode(E) comprises a first electrode, a second electrode(130), and an organic light emitting layer(120).
