FUEL BATTERY MODULE AND FUEL BATTERY HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact fuel battery module.

SOLUTION: A fuel battery comprises: a fuel battery cell 4; and a cell chamber that houses the fuel battery cell 4. The fuel battery cell 4 has: an inner electrode layer 44; an outer electrode layer 48; an electrolyte layer 46 interposed between the electrode layers 44 and 48; and a through passage 50 through which fuel gas flows. The fuel battery cell 4 generates power by use of the fuel gas and air flowing outside. The fuel battery cell 4 is arranged so as to extend from a bottom wall to an upper wall of the cell chamber. Above the fuel battery cell 4, a combustion section is provided that burns the air and the fuel gas after a power generating reaction. An end 4a of the fuel battery cell 4 on the side of the combustion section has a member mounted thereto that communicates with the through passage 50 and forms a connecting passage 40c that extends in an axial direction of the through passage 50 and leads to the combustion section. The connecting passage 40a has a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the through passage 50.
