<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack for rack-and-pinion type electrical power steering system with high reliability and a significant lightweight which include the intensity and anti-buckle property of a rack tooth part and a shaft orientation end screw part more than equivalent to the rack only using the conventional ferrous material. <P>SOLUTION: After a rack tooth part 13 is processed into a steel cored bar 11 and high frequency hardening is performed, the rack tooth part 13 is covered with a filler and then, after forming the rod shaped object in which the carbon fiber reinforced plastics 12 consisting of a laminated body wound by at least one of a single-way prepreg of carbon fiber or a textile prepreg is formed on the whole perimeter side of the core material, the rack tooth part formed on the steel cored bar 11 is exposed by cutting work. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
