The invention relates to the use of a lysate of actinomycetins for preparing nailcare agents and to a method for improving the external appearance of nails. According to the invention, a lysate of actinomycetins is applied to the nail plate. Preferably, lysates of actinomycetins of the genus Actinomyces are used.
