<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KVM switcher which is disposed between a plurality of computers and USB input devices shared by the computers and connects the USB input devices with one computer so as to operate the one computer by the USB input devices, and to provide a method of maintaining connection between the USB input devices and computers that are not selected as an operation object as a result. <P>SOLUTION: A KVM switcher 1 comprises a changeover switch section 10 for connecting USB input devices 3, 5 to one of computers 6 and switching the connection to another computer, and a connection maintenance section 11. The connection maintenance section 11 constantly monitors packets between the USB input devices 3, 5 and the computers 6 and stores initialization information including USB addresses and configuration information in a storage section 12. When changeover operation occurs, the connection maintenance section 11 retrieves initialization information of a computer 6 which is selected as a connection target from the storage section 12 to reinitialize the USB input devices 3, 5 while automatically responding with an NAK to another computer 6 which is now disconnected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
