<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling efficiency by allowing a cooling medium to flow from a gap between insulating insulators. <P>SOLUTION: A stator includes: a stator core 20 radially provided with a plurality of slots TS1-TS48; a plurality of segment coils 15 which are provided in the slots TS1-TS48 in the radial direction of the stator core 20 and each of which is formed in a U-shape by a pair of linear parts 15d and a connecting part 15c; and individual insulating insulators 5.
