<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent non-uniform wear (non-uniform consumption) of a solid lubricant in the longitudinal direction with a simple and low-cost component configuration, to prevent non-uniform application, excessive application, or insufficient application of the lubricant, and to prevent non-uniform charge due to contamination of a charge member caused by lubricant powder in the case of excessive application and the generation of an abnormal image due to filming on a photoreceptor in the case of insufficient application. <P>SOLUTION: A lubricant application device 20 comprises: a solid lubricant 21; a lubricant application member 22 which applies lubricant component scraped off from the solid lubricant by rotation onto an image carrier; and pressing means P which presses the solid lubricant against the lubrication application member side. The pressing means comprises main pressing means P1 which presses the solid lubricant and the lubricant application means uniformly across the entirety of the contact surface of them, and auxiliary pressing means P2 which, if non-uniformity exists in the pressing force of the main pressing means in the longitudinal direction of the contact surface, presses the solid lubricant so as to correct the non-uniformity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
