A field of view matching video display system comprises a tracking device (16), a rear-facing camera (18), a processing device (20), and a display (22). The tracking device captures a first video image (24) in a predefined area in the vehicle. The rear-facing camera captures a second video image (28). The processing device analyzes the first video image to determine a head position of the driver (14), to deter¬ mine a first field of view (36) for the driver based on the head position of the driver and to generate a third video image (32) that substan¬ tially corresponds with at least a portion of the first field of view (36) of the driver. The display (22) shows the third video image (32).
