The bin (2) has a housing (8) comprising two lateral housing walls (15) with outer housing defining surfaces (15a, 15b), and a luggage container (5) comprising lateral container walls (9) and a pivot axis (6). The luggage container is pivotally mounted in the housing about the pivot axis. The luggage container is closed in a pivot position and opened in another pivot position, where the pivot axis is obliquely oriented in one of the outer housing defining surfaces. The container walls extend parallel to each other and vertically to a pivotal axis. An independent claim is also included for a luggage series.
