PURPOSE: A lane recognition apparatus and a method thereof are provided to exactly detect a lane by detecting the lane based on lane fitness among lane feature points detected from photographed image and lanes detected by different lane equations. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(130) indicates an image photographed by a camera module(110). A control unit(120) detects candidate lanes based on lane fitness, among lane feature points detected from the photographed image and lanes detected by different lane equations. The control unit displays lanes adjacent to a vehicle among the detected candidate lanes on the image, as current driving lanes of the vehicle.
