METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USE IN CHANNEL HANDOVER

Disclosed are a method and device for use in channel handover. A channel handover notice carrying a working subchannel mapping and a starting channel number is transmitted. The working subchannel mapping is for indicating the presence or absence of multiple working subchannels, a lowest working subchannel among the multiple working subchannels is the lowest working subchannel corresponding to a starting frequency of a frequency band occupied by a network side, while the starting channel number is for indicating the channel number of the lowest working subchannel corresponding to the starting frequency of the frequency band occupied by the network side. Specific channel number of each working subchannel indicated can be acquired on the basis of the two pieces of information carried in the channel handover notice, compared with a method of carrying directly the channel number in the channel handover notice, the method allows for reduced number of bits used, thus conserving signaling overhead.
