The medical device has an outer casing (9) which comprises a planar, touch-sensitive output- and input devices (20-22). The output- and input devices are so configured that a touch screen (27) or an element for operating the medical device is generated in user dependent or investigation dependent manner on a partial surface of the output- and input devices.
