<p>Provided are: a homogeneous fiber board which has small variation in weight per square meter; and a method for producing the fiber board. A fiber board (100) which is obtained by: mixing a plant fiber (1) (such as a kenaf fiber) and a thermoplastic resin fiber (such as a polypropylene fiber) so as to form a web; forming a fiber mat by interlacing the fibers that constitute the web (by a needle punch method or the like); and heating and compressing the fiber mat. The plant fiber is crimped by stirring a starting material fiber in the presence of water content. A method for producing a fiber board comprises: a web formation step wherein a web is formed by mixing a plant fiber and a thermoplastic resin fiber; a mat formation step wherein a fiber mat is formed by interlacing the fibers that constitute the web; and a board shaping step wherein a fiber board is shaped by heating and compressing the fiber mat.</p> |
