PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling joist receiving member which can improve earthquake resistance more than before.

SOLUTION: A ceiling joist receiving member 1 which is integrally formed by cutting and bending a slender rectangular plate-like material with a predetermined width includes: a body part 5 which is formed in a slender rectangular plate-like shape; first projection parts 7 each of which is formed in a plate-like shape and projects from a part of one side edge of the body part 5 in the width direction by a predetermined dimension; and second projection parts 9 each of which is formed in a plate-like shape and projects from the tip of the first projection part 7 in a direction orthogonal to the first projection part 7 by a predetermined dimension.
