<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferable patterned media structure and a recording/reproducing method if recording/reproducing in a near-field method is performed on a patterned medium. <P>SOLUTION: By forming a wobbling track aside from and alongside a track which is a recording/reproducing target, by irradiating the wobbling track with wobbling track light which is different from recording light, by using reflected light of the wobbling track light to generate a gap-length error signal and perform gap-length servo, the gap-length error signal can be generated without an influence of reflected light of the recording light. As a result, it is possible to prevent a complicated and high-cost configuration of an optical system in irradiation of exclusive light having a different wavelength from that of the recording light and in separation detection of reflected light of the exclusive light. By providing the wobbling track, it is also possible to generate a tracking error signal using the wobbling track, to reproduce address information, and to generate a clock using the wobbling track while preventing a complicated PLL circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
