<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device which helps to avoid a trouble or failure caused by sticking, etc. of relay contacts supplying drive current to the motor. <P>SOLUTION: By using comparison/arithmetic circuits 33 and 34, the motor control device compares a signal representing a prescribed logic level based on the ON/OFF state of an external switch 3 which gives instructions to a motor 15 to start or stop running and a logic level corresponding to the terminal voltage of the motor 15, and, if the logic levels on both sides match, determines that no abnormality such as sticking, etc. has occurred in contacts 13b and 14b of relays 13 and 14. On the other hand, if the logic levels on both sides do not match, the motor control device determines that abnormality such as sticking, etc. has occurred in the contacts 13b and 14b of the relays 13 and 14. So it turns semiconductor switch 39 off to break electrical connections between the relays 13 and 14 and a battery 1, thereby stopping electricity supply to the motor 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
